A colorful masterpiece by director John Huston (African Queen, Annie), based on the life of Toulouse Lautrec, a Parisian artist from the 19th century who suffered a growth disorder due to an accident in his childhood.
John Huston portrays the atmosphere of Montmartre, his characters, as well as the distorted image of Lautrec on existence. As a result, Moulin Rouge was nominated six times in 1952 for an Oscar and eventually won two for Art Director and Costume Design.
In 2001 the remake of this film was published by director Baz Luhrmann, and again nominated for the Oscars.
