Sionyx IR Illuminator Set (940NM thread)

The Sionyx IR Illuminator set is everything you need to be able to see with your Sionyx Aurora night viewer when there is no light. This infrared lamp is specially tailored to the CMOS sensor of the Sionyx night vision for the perfect balance of color and brightness. The LED infrared radiator has an invisible 940nm glow and an adjustable infrared bundle of 4.5 (focus) to 40 degrees (flood).

The IR Illuminator comes standard with a 1/4 "thread mounting to attach it to your Sionyx color night viewer. With this set you will also receive a weaver/picatinny mounting, two rechargeable batteries with a charger and a transport case. 

When do I need IR and when not?

Although the Sionyx night visits are equipped with very light-sensitive CMOS sensors: a certain form of residual light remains required (such as lunar or star light). In some situations it is possible that no residual light is present, for example in a dark house or in a remote forest in complete darkness. That is why extra infrared light can sometimes be necessary. With this infrared radiator you create that extra light required, which is visible by the night viewer, but not with the human eye. That way you can still see.

However, there are also situations that IR is certainly not desirable, such as with Airsoft or Paintball. Although the infrared light is not visible to your own eye, your opponents of course see the light that your IR radiates through their night vision. In these situations you can of course work with an infrared radiator and switch it off when desired.

Application Sionyx IR Illuminator Set

This infrared radiator is extremely suitable if you want to be able to see with your Sionyx night viewer when there is hardly any ambient light. Or when you want to further enlarge the viewing distance with your Sionyx night viewer or see more details. This infrared radiator is, for example, suitable for yacht, security, tactical or general nature observations. In short: if you have a Sionyx night viewer and you never want to be dependent on the amount of ambient light, then the Sionyx IR Illuminator is indispensable. This set is in any case suitable for the Aurora Sport, Aurora Black and the Aurora Standard (Classic).

How do I determine the infrared radiator?

You can use the IR Illuminator in several ways, for example:

• On the tripod connection on the underside of the Sionyx Aurora night vision (assembled)
• To every weaver/picatinny rail, such as on the side of your night guideline or on a helmet (assembly included)
• From your hand to 'release' extra when needed
