Marumi circular polarizing filters are specialized filters that can be used in various situations. For example, they can be used to photograph objects behind glass, where the reflective effect of the glass can be suppressed with the polarizing filter.
- By turning the front section of the filter, you can choose whether the water is reflective or whether you want to photograph "the depths." This filter is also useful for photographing snow, plants, or through a window.
- A circular polarizing filter can also be used for landscape photography, where rotating the filter can bring out different shades of blue and give a cloudy sky more contrast.
- It is generally not recommended to use a circular polarizing filter indoors or at night.
- The filter has an exposure extension factor (slowing down) of 1.5 to 2.0 stops, which is automatically included in the camera's metering.
