Talens offers a wide range of high-quality linen canvases. This canvas is made of 100% linen, weighs 360 grams per m², and has a medium texture with 12.5x12.5 threads per cm². The slat thickness of this canvas is 2x3.5 cm.
Why linen?
Linen is a sturdy material with a characteristic texture, often used with oil paints. It is heavier and stronger than cotton. This makes it suitable for working with heavy materials such as small objects, various mediums, and thicker layers of paint. Because linen canvases can be stretched more tightly, they are less likely to warp than with other materials. Talens also offers a wide range of cotton canvases.
About Talens canvases
- Premium quality, made in Europe with FSC-certified wood.
- Universally prepared for use with oil paint, acrylic paint and water-mixable oil paint.
- Hand-applied primer consisting of a layer of natural glue and two layers of acid-free acrylic gesso.
- The canvas is loose from the frame by means of a bead (rounded raised edge).
- All canvases are fitted with additional beechwood wedges to re-tension the canvas.
