Bokashi means "fermented organic matter." The Bokashi method, using an airtight container, is a super-fast acidification process using effective microorganisms. Anything that can't go in regular compost can go in here: all food scraps, raw or cooked, meat, fish, dairy products, salads. Just put it in! Simply sprinkle the included yeast over it to speed up the process. Spread the finished Bokashi in the garden or store it in an airtight, cool, and dark place. With the Bokashi kitchen bucket, you can ferment your own kitchen waste at home. By mixing kitchen waste with a little Bokashi starter (which can also be purchased separately), valuable organic material is created. The added Effective Microorganisms in the Bokashi starter ensure that the fresh organic waste present ferments and therefore prevents rot. This set consists of two stackable Bokashi buckets. Ferment instead of composting! You can make your own organic Bokashi from chopped kitchen waste and all other types of plant remains. With proper fermentation, rot and odors have no chance. Preparation: 1. Cut the kitchen waste into pieces of approximately 5 x 5 cm. 2. Spread a small amount (20 ml) of Bokashi starter on the grid of the kitchen bucket. 3. Sprinkle a layer of fresh kitchen waste of approximately 5 cm in the bucket. 4. Spread another 20 ml of Bokashi starter on the kitchen waste. 5. Press the kitchen waste firmly. 6. Close the Bokashi kitchen bucket (airtight) with the lid. 7. Repeat this process until the bucket is full. 8. Drain the collected liquid daily (after approximately one week). This liquid is suitable as food for houseplants and garden plants. Dilute the Bokashi juice 1:100 with water. Use the drained juice immediately; do not store it. In toilets and drains, it acts as a preventative natural drain cleaner. 9 Once the bucket is full, leave it for two weeks so the topsoil also ferments. 10 The Bokashi is ready when it has a pleasant sweet-sour aroma. The kitchen scraps will have barely changed in structure and appearance. 11 The scraps can now be incorporated into the soil (in the compost heap, it acts as a compost accelerator). Dig a trench (approximately 15 cm deep) between the plants, keeping a distance of 10-15 cm from the roots. Add the Bokashi (approximately 1 kg per m²). Then cover with soil. Now the soil life will break down Bokashi. Earthworms love it too. Healthy and convenient, because they are free gardeners! After processing Bokashi, wait two weeks before sowing and/or planting. Bokashi starter is a microbial catalyst for the fermentation process and contains Effective Micro-organisms. By spreading Bokashi starter in layers between the kitchen waste, the waste will ferment (upgrade) instead of rotting. Handy: Bokashi starter can also be added to potting soil for (seedlings) plants and flowers.
