Ben is a farrier apprentice at Waterfall Ranch and always has an anvil, tongs, and hammer at the ready. He checks and cleans the hooves before lighting the smoldering coals of the forge to prepare everything for shoeing. The special horseshoes and nails are custom-made for each animal. It's not always easy, but by the end of the day, Ben has fitted the Waterfall horses with new shoes. His mustang stallion, Achilles, whom Ben tied to the paddock for shoeing, now trusts him implicitly.
