This SATA extension cable is designed to extend a combined SATA data and power connection (22-pin) and is used to position SATA devices with a 22-pin connector more flexibly in a PC or server. The cable combines 7-pin SATA data and 15-pin SATA power into a single extension and supports data speeds up to 6 Gb/s (SATA III). Thanks to the 5 individual power wires, all necessary voltages are transmitted: 3.3 V, 5 V, and 12 V, including ground (GND). The cable is backward compatible with SATA 1.5 Gb/s and 3 Gb/s. The different wire gauges are tailored to their function: 26 AWG for data and 18 AWG for power, ensuring reliable power and signal transfer.
