Compostier produces the worm castings themselves in their own worm hotels. The compost is made from local organic waste streams from Amsterdam. Composting worms then multiply the beneficial microorganisms in their digestive tracts. The compost is not heated, but rock dust is added, which provides additional minerals and trace elements. The soil life in the compost converts the minerals and trace elements into a form that is more readily available to plants. Work the worm castings into the soil with your hands or a rake without disturbing the soil too much. A 500g bag is sufficient for approximately 10 small plants, 3-5 medium-sized plants or shrubs, and 1 (fruit) tree. You can also use the worm castings when potting or repotting (house)plants. Mix the old soil with worm castings (up to 50%). Or sprinkle a small amount of worm castings in the planting hole, so the nutrients reach the plant's roots directly. The worm castings are also ideal for making Actively Aerated Compost Tea (ABC Tea). This allows you to provide nutrients for a large garden area. You can read all about ABC Tea in the attached PDF.
