Buteo Photo Gear optionally offers a matching snoot as a replacement for the original photo window of the Buteo Mark III Reed and the Aquila Mark III Reed.
The snoot has the advantage of further camouflaging your lens with the same waterproof fabric and camouflage pattern as the tent (Polyester 150D), and also effectively protects your lens from rain and dust. Another added benefit is that your hands are less visible while operating the camera.
The snoot fits perfectly in any photo window, can be easily zipped in, and has a separate viewing window with a fixed insect net at the top. This viewing window can also be fully or partially closed from the inside and can be made larger or smaller as desired with a zipper that can be operated from both sides.
The larger insect net inside the tent can be zipped down when using the snoot, but it can also be used normally; your lens simply fits through it. In that case, you even have two insect nets. Finally, you can also use the outer polyester fabric in bad weather. It has a zipper for your lens, which you can then use to close the fabric, providing you and your equipment with maximum protection from precipitation (see photos).
