Bokashi means "fermented organic matter". The Bokashi method in an airtight container is a super-fast acidification process using effective micro-organisms. What is not allowed in normal compost can also be added here: all food scraps, raw or cooked, meat, fish, dairy products, salads. Just put it in! Simply sprinkle on the included yeast to speed up the process. Scatter the finished Bokashi in the garden or store it in an airtight, cool and dark place. With the Bokashi kitchen bucket you can ferment your own kitchen waste at home. By mixing kitchen waste with a little Bokashi starter (which can also be purchased separately later), valuable organic material is created. The added Effective Microorganisms in the Bokashi starter ensure that the fresh organic waste present ferments and therefore does not rot. This set consists of 2 stackable Bokashi buckets.   Ferment instead of making compost! You can make your own organic bokashi from chopped kitchen waste and all other types of plant remains. With good fermentation, rot and stench do not stand a chance. Preparation: 1 Cut the kitchen scraps into pieces of approximately 5 x 5 cm. 2 Spread a small amount (20 ml) of Bokashi starter on the rack of the kitchen bucket. 3 Sprinkle a layer of approximately 5 cm of fresh kitchen scraps into the bucket. 4 Spread 20 ml Bokashi starter again on the kitchen scraps. 5 Press the kitchen scraps firmly. 6 Close the Bokashi kitchen bucket (airtight) with the lid. 7 Repeat this process until the bucket is full. 8 Drain the collected moisture daily (after approx. a week). This moisture is suitable as nutrition for house and garden plants. Dilute the Bokashi juice 1/100 with water. Use the drained juice immediately, do not store it. It works preventively as a natural unblocker in the toilet and drain pipes. 9 When the bucket is full, leave it alone for 2 weeks so that the top remains also ferment. 10 The Bokashi is ready when it has a pleasant sweet and sour smell. The kitchen remains have apparently hardly changed in structure and appearance. 11 The remains can now be processed into the soil (in the compost heap it works as a compost accelerator). Dig a trench (approx. 15 cm deep) between the plants and keep a distance of 10-15 cm from the roots. Spoon in the Bokashi (approx. 1 kg per m2). Then cover with soil. Now Bokashi is converted by soil life. Earthworms love it too. Healthy and convenient, because those are free gardeners! After processing Bokashi, wait two weeks before sowing and/or planting. Bokashi starter is a microbial driver of the fermentation process and contains Effective Microorganisms. By spreading Bokashi starter in layers between the kitchen scraps, the scraps will not rot but will ferment (upgrade). Handy: Bokashi starter can also be added to potting soil for (germination) plants and flowers.
