The Aquila Mark II was developed by nature and wildlife photographers. It has been extensively used, tested, and improved where necessary. The Aquila Mark II is the two-person pop-up hide that we currently offer in no fewer than six camouflage patterns.
The improved spring construction makes the tent easy to set up and fold again and again. As soon as you remove the shelter from its bag, it automatically unfolds and takes shape.
For the ideal height, also place the included fiberglass tent poles in the ridge of the tent. This also makes the tent perfectly weatherproof. Then your tent is ready to use!

Easy, fast and mobile

The advantage of having your own mobile shelter is that you can take it with you anytime, anywhere and deploy it quickly when an opportunity arises.
This lightweight and compact camouflage tent is easy to take with you when you're out and about in your local area, travelling further afield or even traveling by plane.

Prepare and place

The Aquila Mark II also allows you to attach additional camouflage, such as branches, leaves, reeds, and so on. These extras can be attached using the cords. If you do this correctly, your hide will blend in even more with its surroundings, which is precisely the point! Another option is to use additional camouflage netting, which you can find on our camouflage netting page.
However, make sure that you have a good and unobstructed view in all directions with your camera.
The tent canvas itself is made of a durable, long-lasting material (150D polyester). The photo tent is perfect for short-term use (up to several months). If left in direct sunlight for extended periods, the color/camo print may fade. In rain/showers, you'll stay dry thanks to the 2500mm hydrostatic head. However, keep in mind that weather resistance may decrease slightly if left outdoors for months or even longer.
For a bit more comfort, to keep your bag and/or other belongings dry on the ground, and to keep ticks and other unwanted guests away, you can use a groundsheet in your tent.

Photographing from the tent

The spacious entrance features a high-quality zipper that stays securely in place at the side when opened and is also fitted with an insect screen in the same camouflage print. Even with the door slightly open, the photo tent remains perfectly camouflaged.
Once inside, you'll notice it's very dark thanks to the black coating on the inside. Small viewing windows with insect nets provide just enough visibility on all sides to survey the surroundings. The shelter offers ample space for one or two people, chairs, tripods with equipment, and a few photo backpacks or bags. On one side, there's an extra storage compartment for small items.
The front features no fewer than four photo windows. You can choose to shoot at eye level or low to the ground. Two more photo windows can be used at eye level on the right side, and one is positioned at eye level on the left. Optionally, you can attach additional snoots or lens covers to these photo windows, which also camouflage your lens and protect it from rain and dust. An added benefit is that your hands are invisible from the outside while operating the camera.
