A Marumi DHG ND (Digital High Grade Neutral Density) is a gray filter that ensures that the bright light that comes in the lens can be controlled. These ND 8 filters are provided with a Multi Coating, which greatly reduces the reflection of the incoming light without disturbing the color balance.

A Marumi DHG ND 8 Filter reduces the light intensity, making it possible to slow down a certain aperture value with 3-stops. This allows a longer shutter speed to be used without further squeezing the aperture. This is useful for capturing movements in a photo and to prevent duplicating moving images ('ghosting').
