Because the foil is very vapor inhibiting, you protect other insulation materials that must remain dry against moisture. By locking up some air on one or both sides of the foil, you increase the insulation value even more. The foil stops up to 95% of the heat radiation.  Damping a good vapor inhibition is very important to prevent water vapor from penetrating a construction and leading unwanted condensation when cooling on the cold side. A layer of vapor -barrier insulation oil has a moisture resistance (µd) of no less than 180 meters. This foil is a good alternative to the films that are normally used as standard in construction.  Insulating effect The insulating effect occurs, because the foil prevents almost all heat flow due to radiation. It can be used to have warm objects radiate less warmth or even to bounce back heat. The foil is ideal for use in retention walls, where it is combined with an air cavity. Confirmation The foil has a very high tensile strength, but can tear.
