Standard crankshafts correspond to the original crankshaft, the ABE is retained. Sports crankshafts are not StVZO approved! Sports crankshafts have partially polished connecting rods, the modified crankshaft cheeks (solid cheeks) result in higher precompression and better gas flow. The resulting higher engine speeds result in better starting behavior and better overall performance. Recommended in combination with cylinders for tuning.
