Bagels

Bagels are round rolls with a hole in the middle, made from dough that is first briefly boiled and then baked. This gives them a firm, slightly chewy outside and a soft inside. Bagels often have a neutral taste and are often eaten for breakfast or lunch, topped with cream cheese, salmon, meats or vegetables, for example. They are popular in many cuisines and also come in different varieties such as whole wheat, sesame or poppy seeds.
