Good-quality 100% cotton fabric - can be decorated with yarn by sewing through the loops. Do not wash. This sewing fabric (if left unwashed) has a weave pattern with raised loops/stitches that young children can easily thread a cross-stitch needle through. Start in the upper right corner of the fabric. Double the yarn once it is threaded onto the cross-stitch needle and tie a knot at the end, for example, around the first loop. This prevents the child from pulling the yarn off the needle. Now you can push the threaded needle back and forth horizontally through the loops, creating a striped pattern. We recommend choosing smooth cotton yarn, as it is easier for children to work with. Another variation: For example, thread a bead (with a large hole) onto the yarn between the loops for an added effect for more experienced children.
