Description
A dingy motel room, three top actors and an amazing script. These are the ingredients of the strong drama TAPE. This film by Richard Linklater is about two men who meet after 10 years in a motel room in Lansing, Michigan. Vince (Ethan Hawke) and Jon (Sean Robert Leonard) were best friends in high school. Jon is a debut director who has been invited to a Film Festival in his hometown. Vince is involved in all kinds of shady drug dealings and has not made it any further than volunteering for the fire brigade. The meeting starts amicably, but it soon turns out that Vince has a double agenda. Vince would like to talk about their mutual high school friend Amy (Uma Thurman). He tries to get a confession out of Jon, which he secretly records on tape. Vince wants Jon to admit that he raped Amy during a party that got out of hand. To make things even more complicated, Vince also invited Amy. Vince is looking for a confrontation, but the result turns out to be a big surprise for him too!
