Description
A dingy motel room, three top actors, and a fantastic script. These are the ingredients of the powerful drama TAPE. This film by Richard Linklater tells the story of two men who meet after 10 years in a motel room in Lansing, Michigan. Vince (Ethan Hawke) and Jon (Sean Robert Leonard) were best friends in high school. Jon is a first-time director invited to a film festival in his hometown. Vince is involved in all sorts of shady drug dealings and has only made it as far as a volunteer firefighter. The meeting starts off amicably, but it soon becomes clear that Vince has a hidden agenda. Vince wants to talk about their mutual high school friend, Amy (Uma Thurman). He tries to extract a confession from Jon, which he secretly tapes. Vince wants Jon to admit that he raped Amy during a party that got out of hand. To complicate matters even further, Vince has also invited Amy. Vince is looking for a confrontation, but the outcome turns out to be a big surprise for him as well!
