Haori jackets

A Haori is a traditional, loose-fitting Japanese coat with half-long sleeves that is worn open as an elegant overcoat over a kimono, or very trendy over Western jeans and a T-shirt. Originally worn by warriors during the Sengoku period to protect themselves from the cold, the Haori evolved into a stylish fashion item for both men and women that should not be closed, but subtly stays open using a braided connecting cord (Haori-himo).
