The "normal" plastic peg is made of hard or low-pressure polyethylene (High Density). This material is especially important when weight needs to be saved. This herring even floats! Plastic pegs are suitable for both soft and hard ground. However, it is not suitable for petrified soil and rocky soil.
Another option is a plastic tent peg made of ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene). The impact resistance and toughness of this material is much higher than that of hard polyethylene. This means it can also hold its own on petrified soil, but this material also falls short on rocky soil.
