Our ingredients

To make our food, we dry-cure 10.6 kg of meat for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to incorporate into our kibble. With the right amounts of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-raised, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh flavor and rich color, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together give our kibble its delicious flavor and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry promote healthy muscle growth and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide your dog with extra valuable nutrients, we've added super-healthy vegetables to our food. This means vegetables are not only nutritious but also offer other health benefits. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Spices

The healthy herbs that enrich our food are derived from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and seaweed, among other things, goes back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its beneficial properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, specific ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Korean jindo specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully examined the breed characteristics of the Korean Jindo. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Korean Jindo belongs. Based on this research, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, we have selected ingredients that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Korean Jindo.

Nettle

Nettle is a genus of plants, including the common nettle and the small nettle, found in the Netherlands and Belgium. Nettle is known for its cleansing and blood-purifying properties. According to various sources, nettle is bactericidal and therefore very effective against infectious diseases. The leaves are also effective against diarrhea and other digestive disorders.

Nettle supports liver and kidney function by stimulating the breakdown of waste products. It also supports bladder health and promotes hair growth in dogs.

Nettle also contains silicic acid, also known as silicon. This is a building block that forms part of connective tissue in bones, tendons, ligaments, skin, hair, and nails. Silicon supports the natural production of skin cells and helps maintain healthy skin.

At Yourdog, we add nettle to our dog food because it can positively contribute to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the dog's coat, skin, and bones, as well as to preventing digestive and/or urination problems.

Chondroitin

Chondroitin occurs naturally in the dog's body and is one of the most important components of cartilage tissue. In dogs, chondroitin is able to attract and retain moisture, which is thought to create a spongy, springy structure in the cartilage.

Chondroitin improves the flexibility of cartilage and also has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. It also stimulates the production of the building blocks for healthy cartilage.

When combined with glucosamine, chondroitin supports and enhances the effects of glucosamine. It is therefore often given as a nutritional supplement to people and animals suffering from osteoarthritis.

Celery

Celery is a plant in the Apiaceae family. It's often found growing on wet ground along the coast.

Celery is rich in vitamins A, C, and K, and also contains plenty of folate and potassium. It's also fat-free, high in fiber, and very low in calories.

We add celery to our dog food because it can positively contribute to supporting your dog's immune system and digestion. It can also have a positive effect on their skin and coat, muscle and nerve function (via vitamin A), and maintaining strong bones (via vitamin K).

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Korean Jindo dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Korean Jindo is under 11 months old, choose the Puppy variety. For a Korean Jindo over 7 years old, we recommend Yourdog Korean Jindo Senior. If your dog is over 11 months old but under 7 years old, you can choose the Adult variety.

Nutritional advice

Switching advice

If you're switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. First, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Your dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It's important to let your dog get used to this for two or three days as well. Then, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Continue this for two days. After this, you can switch to 100% Yourdog Korean Jindo dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and flavor. Therefore, it's important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or barrel in a dry, cool, and dark place. It's best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place the entire bag inside, sealing it as tightly as possible.
