With LED lighting, 95% of the energy is converted into light. This means that only a small part is converted into heat, so that energy consumption remains significant. An LED lamp can therefore produce as much light as an incandescent or halogen bulb, using only a fraction of the current. Furthermore, LED lighting doesn't get hot, making it much less likely to burn out than an incandescent bulb. LEDs are also more shock and vibration resistant.
