Description

USB Type-C™ to HDMI adapter – DisplayPort Alt Mode – HDMI™ 2.0 – 4K@60Hz This adapter is designed for connecting an HDMI monitor or projector to a computer with a USB Type-C™ port that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode. The video signal is converted directly from the USB-C™ port to HDMI via DisplayPort Alt Mode. No graphics emulation, compression, or additional software is required. Host Port Requirements The USB Type-C™ port of the host device must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode. Use is also possible via Thunderbolt™ 3 and Thunderbolt™ 4 ports, as these can transmit DisplayPort signals via USB-C™. Without DisplayPort Alternate Mode, video output is not possible. USB Version USB 3.2 Gen 1×1. The USB connection is used for power and configuration; the video signal runs via DisplayPort Alt Mode and not via USB data transmission. Operation The DisplayPort signal from the host is routed via DisplayPort Alt Mode over the USB Type-C™ or Thunderbolt™ connection. The integrated Parade PS186 chipset converts this signal to HDMI™ in hardware. The conversion takes place without a framebuffer or video compression, resulting in low latency and stable image reproduction. Inputs 1× USB Type-C™ male (host). Outputs 1× HDMI A female (19-pin). Signal Direction USB Type-C™ / Thunderbolt™ input → HDMI output. Image and Video Support Support for resolutions up to 3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz (4K@60Hz). Lower resolutions are automatically supported. The final resolution and refresh rate depend on the source device and the connected HDMI display. Color and Image Formats Support for RGB and YCbCr 4:4:4 color formats up to 8-bit color depth, fitting within the HDMI™ 2.0 bandwidth at 4K@60Hz. HDR Support for HDR signals. Actual HDR playback depends on the source device, operating system, and HDMI display. HDMI Version HDMI™ 2.0 – Premium High Speed (up to 18 Gbit/s). DisplayPort Support DisplayPort 1.4 via USB Type-C™ DisplayPort Alternate Mode and Thunderbolt™ 3/4. Audio Audio is output along with the video signal via HDMI. Support for common digital audio formats such as LPCM, Dolby Digital, and DTS depends on the source and HDMI display. Audio Processing The Parade PS186 chipset transports audio as part of the DisplayPort signal and converts it to HDMI audio without re-encoding. Security Support for HDCP 1.4 and HDCP 2.3 for playing protected content. Power Supply The adapter is powered via the USB Type-C™ or Thunderbolt™ port of the host device (USB bus powered). No external power supply is required. Cable The adapter features a fixed cable with a length of approximately 20 cm (excluding connectors). The cable is equipped with 32 AWG data lines and 28 AWG power lines. The cable diameter is approximately 5 mm. An integrated ferrite core reduces electromagnetic interference.
