Description
Description
The StingIR-384 from the American company AGM Global Vision is a tactical thermal imaging camera that comes with a helmet mount (bridge) with a Dovetail connection. With a 384x288 detector (12μm) and real-time image, it is a high-quality hands-free viewer. The AGM StingIR-384 is specifically designed for professional users and any demanding user who wants to keep their hands free during use. The device is only 14 cm long and weighs less than 200 grams.
Internal highlights
The camera can detect people up to 730 m away and vehicles from over a kilometer away. Its large field of view is 16.3 x 12.3 degrees. Optical magnification is 1x, but digital zoom allows for further magnification to 2x and 4x. You can also use Picture-in-Picture mode to further enlarge a specific object. The surroundings are projected onto a razor-sharp 1028x768 OLED display.
Optimal observation and detection
You can display your surroundings using four color palettes: White Hot, Black Hot, Orange Hot (also known as Outdoor Alert), and Rainbow. You can manually adjust the brightness and contrast, which are adjustable in 10 levels. You can also use the built-in digital compass and the inclinometer, which displays the angle of inclination in degrees.
Mounting on a helmet
The AGM StingIR comes with a bridge with a dovetail connector, allowing you to attach the thermal camera to any standard helmet or goggle kit (headset). The adapter features a rail, allowing you to perfectly position the thermal camera for the desired eye. The NVG mount—which connects your helmet to the bridge—is not included, as it depends on the type of connector on the front of your helmet. The delivery box and images show exactly what's included.
Appearance and power supply
The camera is IP67 certified, making it waterproof and dustproof. Even in extreme temperatures ranging from -10°C to +60°C, you can use it without any problems. The AGM StingIR can be powered in several ways: via continuous power or a single CR123, RCR123, or 18650 battery. The camera also has a standby mode to further extend its lifespan. You can achieve continuous power, for example, by attaching a power bank to the back of your helmet or goggle kit and connecting it to the thermal camera (USB-C port). This also ensures optimal balance.
Application AGM StingIR-384
This monocular thermal imaging camera is designed for both handheld and hands-free use. This makes it an ideal solution for a wide range of applications. Think of airsoft and tactical use, such as for police and defense (Military/Level), and any type of security, rescue services, or even the Coast Guard. The StingIR is also suitable for night navigation, general nature observation, and hunting. With thermal imaging, you can always observe and detect, regardless of the weather or time of day.
