Cyclus headset press kit suitable for 1” and 1 1/8” headsets.
- Headset cup press for pressing in the outer headset cup with ball guide
- Max. headset length: 200 mm
The tool is designed to press the lower and upper cups evenly into the head tube. Before use, it's strongly recommended to check that the cup fit isn't damaged. If it is, adjust the fit with the headset cutter.
Tip: Apply some grease to the head tube and bearing shell to be pressed in and it will not only make things easier but will also be better for the tools.
Cycle 720009
With this tool the top and the bottom head cup will be pressed into the steerer tube simultaneously. Scope of delivery: - tool holder with T-handle, - trapezoidal thread spindle 360mm, - press bush pair, - threaded sleeve, - thrust bearing. Preparation: Screw the trapezoidal thread spindle with the side, which has a fine thread, into the tool holder. Put the thrust bearing and then one of the press bushes on the spindle. Use: Place the top head cup on the press bush and insert the tool into the steerer tube. Place the bottom head cup on the other press bush and put both of them on the spindle of the tool. Afterwards screw the threaded sleeve on the trapezoidal therad of the spindle. Rotate the tool holder and start to press the head cups. Pay attention, that the cups are not getting jammed during the work. Before you begin to press the head cups, check the diameter tolerance of the cup seating in the frame. You might need to correct the size by milling and facing the steerer tube first. Use corresponding head tube facing tools (code: 720005; 720006; 720210). Tip: Put some lubricant on the head cups to be pressed. It will make the work easier and safe the tool.
