- Lifespan: To extend the life of your brake pads, it's important to bed them in after installation. Gently pull the brake lever while riding, ensuring the pads are in contact with the brake rotor. Ride for about 100 meters at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour (15 mph), then brake harder at the end to reduce your speed to about 5 kilometers per hour (3 mph). Then, gradually increase your speed while braking lightly. Repeat this process 10 to 12 times to ensure the brake pads are properly bedded in.
