After installing the new brake pads, it's important to bed them in for longer life. While riding, gently pull the brake lever and let the pads contact the brake rotor. Ride for about 100 meters at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour (15 mph), braking harder at the end to reduce the speed to about 5 kilometers per hour (3 mph). Then slowly increase your speed while braking lightly. Repeat this process 10 to 12 times to ensure the brake pads are properly bedded in.
