Kolossos is ontworpen om naadloos te passen en te monteren op je huidige achterderailleur. Oversized derailleurpoelies zijn tegenwoordig een ware rage. Grote derailleurpoelies veroorzaken minder vervorming in de ketting en langzamere rotaties in de lagers. Beide leiden tot minder wrijving en een efficiëntere krachtoverbrenging tussen benen en wielen. Het doel van Kogel was om een kooi te bouwen die zo stijf is dat hij de ketting als een kooi vasthoudt, terwijl hij alle voordelen biedt van extra grote katrollen met lage weerstand. Kolossos is 3x stijver dan de belangrijkste concurrent en 2x stijver in vergelijking met de originele kooi op je derailleur. Gebouwd om lage wrijving te bieden met behoud van schakelnauwkeurigheid.
