Offer your pet 2.5 cm of bath sand in a bathhouse or bowl, and let your pet bathe for a maximum of 10 to 20 minutes. Chinchillas enjoy a sand bath daily, hamsters, gerbils, and degus about twice a week. Replace the sand at least once a week and whenever it becomes soiled by feces or moisture.
