- Pressure-treated wood: This playground is made of vacuum-pressed and pressure-treated pine. Solid pine is a beautiful, natural material. Pine has straight grain, and the knots give it a distinctive, rustic look. Pressure-treated pine is a preservative process performed using autoclaves. The pressure treatment increases its resistance to rot and water.
