Codenames is a unique word game where players must find associations with words. The rival intelligence agencies know the secret identities of 25 spies. Their teammates know these spies only by their codenames. Both teams compete to be the first to contact their spies.
Each secret service chief provides a clue by naming a word that corresponds to several words on the table. Their teammates try to guess the words of their color without betraying the enemy spies. And of course, everyone wants to avoid the assassin.

With Codenames, you literally play with words. Teams Blue and Red compete to discover the names of the spies. To begin, each team appoints its Chief of Secret Service, who sits on the opposite side of the table. They then choose 25 random cards and 1 key card. The cards are placed on the table, and the key card determines which spy names must be guessed. It's up to the Chief of Secret Service to come up with synonyms and say them out loud. Will your team be the first to guess all the spy names, or will the assassin's card be revealed? Then the game is over. You can play Codenames with a small or large team, against the clock or at your leisure, and of course, as often as possible! Nominated for Toy of the Year 2016!
