If your bike has wide aluminium dropouts, Pitlock recommends securing only one side of the axle with Pitlock (single). Use the double set for securing the axle on both sides. Note:The protruding thread should protrude about 14 mm from the dropout. The retaining ring requires a clearance (bearing surface) of 15 mm in the radius around the thread so that the Pitlock fastener can be securely installed. If the protruding thread is too short, a stub axle with a long threaded axle is required (Rohloff part number 8235L).
