This UV-C has a number of useful functions. The transparent screw cap ensures that you can safely check the PL UV-C lamp by blocking your eyes against harmful UV-C radiation. For your safety, the ballast is equipped with a special switch -off function. When you replace the UV-C lamp, the ballast will switch off automatically if the lamp is removed.
The PL UV-C lamp has been further improved, so that both the effective light output and its lifespan has been increased by approximately 30% compared to earlier models. The device is used with a filtration system, which has a separate compartment, which means that the UV-C radiation does not come into contact with the filter material. To maintain the effectiveness of this UV-C unit, the quarter glass must be cleaned at least 3 times a year.
NOTE: The 18 W UV-c unit is compatible with the Cross-Flow Biofill, Giant Biofill XL and Clear Control 50 Filter systems.
