Our ingredients

To make our food, we dry-cure 10.6 kg of meat for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to incorporate into our kibble. With the right amounts of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-raised, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh flavor and rich color, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together give our kibble its delicious flavor and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry promote healthy muscle growth and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

The healthy herbs that enrich our food are derived from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and seaweed, among other things, goes back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its beneficial properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, specific ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Pharaoh Hound specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Pharaoh Hound. We also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Pharaoh Hound belongs. Based on this research, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, we selected ingredients that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Pharaoh Hound.

Licorice root

Licorice root is derived from the Greek "glyks" for "sweet" and "rhiza" for "root"; it is therefore also called Glycyrrhiza glabra. The plant originates in Eurasia, North Africa, and West Asia. Medicinal properties have been attributed to licorice since ancient times, and the root is often used to prepare herbal teas.

Licorice root is said to have a soothing effect on mucous membranes and also has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It can also contribute to the healing of the stomach lining and is said to be beneficial for a sensitive gastrointestinal tract.

Cranberry

The cranberry is a plant in the heather family. In the Netherlands, it is primarily found on the Wadden Islands and is very rare elsewhere in the country. Originally from North America, the plant is believed to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Cranberries contain a unique blend of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost for dogs. The berries are rich in minerals like potassium, which helps maintain healthy levels of vital fluids in the body. They're also packed with vitamins A, B, and C, as well as antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes urine more acidic, making the bladder environment less conducive to bacteria. Adding cranberries can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fiber in cranberries supports healthy digestion and helps dogs feel full longer.

Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could contribute positively to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, joints, bones, and nerve function, among other things.

Mango

Mango belongs to the Mangifera genus and likely originates from northeastern India and Southeast Asia. It is a drupe with varying shapes and grows on a tree that can reach a height of 40 meters.

This delicious summer treat is packed with essential vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamins A, B6, C, and E, and is rich in potassium, beta-carotene, and alpha-carotene. Mango also contains plenty of healthy fiber, which helps strengthen the immune system and digestion. The natural antioxidant vitamin C helps support vital bodily functions. Vitamin A is packed with beta-carotene, which can help maintain and improve vision.

We add mango to our dog food because it can positively contribute to supporting your dog's immune system and healthy digestion. Mango can also support your dog's vision.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Pharaoh Hound dog food options, you can use the following guidelines. If your Pharaoh Hound is under 11 months old, choose the Puppy variety. For a Pharaoh Hound over 7 years old, we recommend Yourdog Pharaoh Hound Senior. If your dog is over 11 months old but under 7 years old, choose the Adult variety.

Nutritional advice

Switching advice

If you're switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. First, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Your dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It's important to let your dog get used to this for two or three days as well. Then, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Continue this for two days. After this, you can switch to 100% Yourdog Pharaoh dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and flavor. Therefore, it's important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or barrel in a dry, cool, and dark place. It's best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place the entire bag inside, sealing it as tightly as possible.
