Karlin Pickett is a well-known radio DJ in Los Angeles who entertains his audience with crazy stunts and hard jokes. His new colleague, the young Jon Price, is very impressed and the two get along well. Karlin offers Jon a very good job, which gives him the chance to start a new life. Jon's beautiful girlfriend Sharon doesn't like the new life at all and sees her relationship falling apart, she wants the old life back. At one point a number of women are murdered, and the suspected murderer regularly calls the radio station, the cat and mouse game has begun. Inspector Dimotto tries to catch the killer through the hints he hears over the radio, but when he gets close to the truth he makes a shocking discovery that the entire city witnesses over the radio.
