Place a piece of kitchen paper under the iron to catch the liquid wax. 3. Tilt the iron slightly forward to prevent the wax from entering the steam vents on the soleplate. 4. Rub the soiled areas of the soleplate with the stick. Use circular motions for optimal results. 5. Remove any residue with a clean, dry cloth. 6. Then, thoroughly iron the iron on an old cloth or a piece of kitchen paper.
