A Marumi DHG ND (Digital High Grade Neutral Density) is a neutral density filter that controls the bright light entering the lens. These ND 8 filters are multi-coated, significantly reducing reflection of incoming light without disrupting the color balance.

A Marumi DHG ND 8 filter reduces light intensity, making it possible to slow down a given aperture by 3 stops. This allows for a longer shutter speed without stopping down the aperture further. This is useful for capturing movement in a photo and preventing ghosting. A good example is a photo of flowing water.
The DHG filters are made of extra-strong tempered glass and are moisture, scratch, and dirt resistant thanks to their multi-coating. They are easy to clean. The female thread allows you to stack filters and combine different filters for even greater effectiveness.
