Cobras are known for the imposing hood on their necks. They extend this hood when they feel threatened or angry. Their hood consists of flaps of skin attached to long ribs. They are also capable of raising their heads high off the ground, which is not only a bit scary but also helps them forage for food. And to make them even more frightening, they hiss loudly to deter potential predators.
