The best place for a nest box is in a quiet and sheltered location with a clear flight path. Make sure it is not in full sun and hang it high enough so that cats cannot reach it. By hanging the nest box in the autumn, it can also serve as a shelter in winter. The best time to clean the box is in autumn.
