Our ingredients

To make our food, we dry-cure 10.6 kg of meat for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to incorporate into our kibble. With the right amounts of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-raised, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh flavor and rich color, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its beneficial properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, specific ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Swedish Lapphund. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Swedish Lapphund belongs. Based on this research, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, we have selected ingredients that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Swedish Lapphund.

Parsley

Parsley is a biennial, hardy herbaceous plant from the Apiaceae family. Parsley has been used medicinally for hundreds of years. There are dozens of illnesses that parsley combats. According to various sources, it cures, among other things, diarrhea, anemia, and ear infections. It is rich in iron, more so than spinach, for example. Parsley also contains other minerals such as silicon, as well as vitamins B and C, and carotene.

At Yourdog, we add parsley to dog food because it could contribute positively to preventing breed-specific problems related to blood, heart, and kidneys.

Parsley is a natural source of vitamins C, A, and K. These can support the immune system and eyes, and can support the cardiovascular system and liver. Parsley also has anti-inflammatory properties and can act as a diuretic, keeping your dog's bladder free of debris.

Marigold

The marigold (calendula) is a plant that, like goldenrod, belongs to the Asteraceae family. Calendula is a cultivated flower; it has been used for centuries for its various medicinal properties. The original calendula species probably grew in Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold is rarely found in the wild anymore. Marigold is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.

There's a lot of information available about the positive effects of calendula. We recommend adding calendula to dog food because it can help prevent breed-specific problems related to the skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes, and feet. It's particularly beneficial for restoring skin and mucous membranes, has anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties, and can prevent cramps during digestion.

Calendula is primarily used externally for skin conditions such as scratches and other skin problems. However, it can also be used internally for its regenerative properties.

Raspberries

The raspberry is a plant in the rose family and belongs to the Rubus genus. Raspberries have been cultivated since the Middle Ages and are native throughout Europe.

Raspberries contain many nutrients that can support your dog's health, such as vitamins like vitamin C, minerals like manganese, and antioxidants. Furthermore, raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in beneficial fiber.

Raspberry is added to our dog food for its anti-inflammatory properties and can contribute positively to immune system function. Raspberries can also help maintain vision and a healthy cardiovascular system.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Swedish Lapphund dog food options, you can use the following guidelines. If your Swedish Lapphund is under 11 months old, choose the Puppy variety. For a Swedish Lapphund over 7 years old, we recommend the Yourdog Swedish Lapphund Senior. If your dog is over 11 months old but under 7 years old, you can choose the Adult variety.

Switching advice

If you're switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. First, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Your dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It's important to let your dog get used to this for two or three days as well. Then, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Continue this for two days. After this, you can switch to 100% Yourdog Swedish Lapphund dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and flavor. Therefore, it's important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or barrel in a dry, cool, and dark place. It's best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place the entire bag inside, sealing it as tightly as possible.
