LOCTITE® 518 cures when applied in vacuum between adjacent metal surfaces. It is an anaerobic sealing material designed for use on rigid bonding surfaces with iron, aluminum and steel surfaces. LOCTITE 518 fills gaps up to 0.25 mm and forms a flexible, chemical-resistant seal that will not crack or rot. The parts are easy to disassemble, even after long use. Typical applications include the sealing of rigid joints between rigid metal edges and flanges. It is also used as an ad hoc sealant on rigid flange connections, e.g. transmissions and engine housings.
